Oko, Oko Ve Zdi (THE EYE or EYE IN THE WALL) Trailer

Here is the The Eye (aka Oko, Oko Ve Zdi and The Eye In The Wall) an upcoming Czech Thriller.
Karl Roden is usually seen in movies as the sterotypical bad guy or the professor at some university like the last time we saw him in THE ORPHAN, but in this movie he does get a rare chance to be the lead actor.
Jurgen Prochnow as in what part in the movie I am uncertain but i wonder if he's the man peeping through the keyhole in the trailer? Not  much is given away in this but enough to get you intrigued for this!

Roel Reine's DRIFTER

I am a sucker for the movies that bring together a group of strangers together and place them in a location where they are unknown to the actual dangers and experiences that lurk in that Particular place (i:e Saw). Here is a movie created by Roel Riene called Drifthttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0820872/er.
What Reine has done with this by giving 4 people with a big dose of amensia, a alternate reality making it essential they group together to survive.
This movie was actually created in 2007 but is still waiting on a distributor, no details yet of an release.

Synopsis:
Four characters wake in a desert, disoriented and lost with no clue where they are or how they got there. All four have fresh surgical scars and are on the verge of death. As they run desperately through a labyrinth of realities, both past and present, their ties are revealed and they come to see that only one of them will survive.

백야행 - White Night Trailer

Here is a trailer for the South Korean Thriller (백야행) White Night. According to TwitchFilm this movie is adapted from Higashino Keigo's  白夜行 (Byakuyako), One of Japan's best television dramas of the last decade.
The Korean version is a very dark and intense movie and does follow alot of the Original stories content which is great. This version consists of a strong cast of actor whom are very big on the Korean TV/Movie network with Ye-Ji Son, Min-Yung Lee, Soo Go and Shin Woo Park directing.
Movie out in Korea November 19th and a big thanks to TWITCHFILM  for the trailer.

Synopsis:A pawnbroker is found murdered in a remote town. Police suspect that he was murdered by an acquaintance, as even the most experienced investigator on the case could identify no signs of resistance. Three people come under suspicion but all of them have perfect alibis and the investigation comes to a standstill. One year later, one of them is found dead and the original murder case becomes even more mysterious. Almost fifteen years pass and the lead inspector, now approaching retirement, reflects on the only case he could not solve in an otherwise successful career. Haunted by a sense of responsibility and guilt that he caused suffering by letting the murder case go unsolved, he decides to re-investigate. His persistent search brings attention to the long forgotten case and reveals a hidden relationship between the victim's son and the neighborhood woman's daughter. 9:06 Trailer

Here's the trailer for 9:06 A Slovenian movie which has recently picked up 9 awards at recent film festival in Slovenia.
The movie sees a  police inspector investigates an unusual suicide case. The investigation develops into an obsession, inspector starts living in the apartment of the deceased, digging through his life and gradually taking over his identity. No matter what country a movie is from if it picks up numerous awards and 9 especially it deserves a look, I have no knowledge of a possible UK/Irish release.

Les 7 jours du Talion

Nothing more great in a man's life than his wife/Partner and their children but what if one day you go to work as normal, you return home after an uneventful day and you find you wife and 8 year old daughter lying dead after been raped and murdered. This would drive any father/husband insane and this is the basis of this French Canadian movie "Les 7 jours du Talion" (7days).
Claude Legault plays Bruno Hamel the husband /Father is seeks vengence in his own darkened revenge and as his world is following apart around him he goes out to hunt down the murderer so he could dish out retribution. After great preperation Claude captures the killer, sends a messege to the police that he has the rapist and killer of his wife&daughter  and he's going to torture and kill him within 7 days.
This movie is based on a book by Patrick Senécal who also wrote the screenplay and this has many similarties to Gerard Butler/Jamie Foxx's new upcoming movie Law Abiding Citizen who also plays a vengeful husband/father (I wonder if this book inspired that film?mmm?).

Martin Dubreuil, Fanny Mallette, Rémy Girard, Pascale Delhaes, and Rose-Marie Coallier also star in the movie. Thanks to QuietEarth for the trailer.

36 STAIRS trailer

The above is a trailer for Grzegorz Jonkajtys 36 STAIRS  a bleak dystopic vision of the future where humans are very dependant on bio-mechanical items to survive the decaying climate. Ive never seen Jonkajtys previous film ARK another post apocalyptic short which can now be watched online HERE
and his latest short looks visually stunning and would like sensational as a full length feature.

Synopsis:
Set against a polluted, megalopolis world, the tragic tale of Jeffrey Brief (Rodrigo Lopresti) unfolds; faced with the imminent loss of his crucial health insurance, Brief unwittingly unravels the dark truth behind population control that pushes him to unspeakable lengths.

Many thanks to QuietEarth for the source, links and synopsis

International Trailer: White Ribbon (Das weiße Band)

The International trailer for WHITE RIBBON has been been posted online.

Directed by Michael Haneke was a Palm D'or winner at this years prestigous Cannes Film Festival, the movie also stars Susanne Lothar, Ulrich Tukur, Josef Bierbichler, Rainer Bock, Michael Schenk and Theo Trebs. The will get a limited release in UK & Ireland on November 13th and more likely to be screened at your nearest Independent/Arthouse cinema.
With the film in glorious black in white and I think sometimes not creating a movie in full colour can bring a edgeness to a movie, make it more unique as well bring a bit of darkness to the story and this film does have that dark edge. The movie is about Strange events happen in a small village in the north of Germany during the years just before World War I, which seem to be ritual punishment. The abused and suppressed children of the villagers seem to be at the heart of this mystery. This does have a very deep story which touches a lot of thought provoking issues and wont I appeal to everyone but I do say check it out.

TSAR Trailer - "Blockbuster" Russian movie

Who said its only Hollywood  who can make big blockbuster movies? Well here's proof the Russian's can create a great looking blockbuster flick.
This is the trailer for TSAR a historical epic based on a dark period of Russian history. The movie is set in 16th-century Russia in the grip of chaos, Ivan the Terrible strongly believes he is vested with a holy mission. Believing he can understand and interpret the signs, he sees the Last Judgment approaching. He establishes absolute power, cruelly destroying anyone who gets in his way. During this reign of terror, Philip, the superior of the monastery on the Solovetsky Islands, a great scholar and Ivan's close friend, dares to oppose the sovereign's mystical tyranny. What follows is a clash between two completely opposite visions of the world, smashing morality and justice, God and men. A grand-scale film with excellent leading roles by Mamonov and Yankovsky. An allegory of Stalinist Russia (imdb).
The movie premiered away back early summer 2009 at the Cannes Festival and received a very good feedback and next month will go on national release in Russia (November 4th), Hopefully it should have some sort of release in UK/Ireland  2010.

Last Day Of Summer trailer

DJ Qualls is that type of actor when you look at him he looks like he could play a  kid/teenager for many years and not realising he's actually 31! If I was asked to name one of his movies I wouldnt be able to give you one, though I can remember him popping up over the years as a scrawny little kid/teen in many of the popular American TV series which get aired here in UK.
Here is the new trailer for Last Day of Summer  a dark indie comedy where DJ plays an an agitated fast-food employee, Joe who has reached his breaking point after been being constantly  harassed as well as tormented by his boss. On the last day of summer, Joe finally  snaps and decides to take revenge, but his plans are disrupted when a quick glance from a beautiful girl catches his attention, leading him to kidnap her instead, changing both their lives forever.Movie stars also Nikki Reed as the beautiful girl and William Sadler as the Harrassing Boss.

As and if this movie will be released in UK or Ireland  I am unsure as Ive checked the usual places to find release info but no date yet, but enjoy the trailer and keep an eye out on this blog.
Thanks Quiet Earth for the trailer.

DOGGING :A LOVE STORY

Here is the second and better trailer for UK movie DOGGING:A LOVE STORY This movie is about  a sharp observation on the perils, pitfalls and wrong turns of romance in the 21st century. Aspiring journalist Dan expected so much more after graduation... but with no leads, little motivation and a girlfriend who would rather cosy up to her boss in the office, it's not exactly as he planned. In a bid to get his life back on track and coerced by his womanizing flatmate, Dan is introduced to the al fresco sex scene that is DOGGING. Encountering an array of weird and wonderful characters looking for their dubious highs, it soon becomes clear that the scene is ripe for an expose. Dropping his inhibitions in the name of research, Dan becomes a reluctant pawn on the car park circuit, where he meets Laura and the totally unexpected happens. (IMDB)

The movie stars Luke Treadway as Dan  the lead character and Luke will be appearing next year drawing swords with mythical creatures in the fantasy epic remake Clash of The Titans, the movie was directed by newcomer  Simon Ellis . Dogging A love story will hit the British cinemas December 28th.

Lars Von Trier going back to his roots in Science Fiction

Its Actually Hard to believe Lars Von Trier started his career as a director in the science fiction genre. After many years of experiments about America and of course back in June the release of Antichrist (outon 23rd  in USA) he seems to be more famous for. So now it's looking likely he is heading back to his science fiction roots(started in 1984 with The Elements of Crime with a project called Planet Melancholia.
Peter Albaek Jensen Lars Von Triers partner at Zentropa Entertainment said "no more happy endings" and the movie will no gential cutting and more special effects. Dont expect your invading aliens for this flick but a plantery disaster threat but what actual direction/story has been confirmed. Its possible this movie will be start to film in 2010 and will be in English though no names for cast have been thought of yet.
I admit havent watched any of Lars Von Triers work yet and what I know of the director I have learned through magazines and wbesites & blogs. What the media says about the Danish director is exactly true it should be left to the individual if they believe it or not. What we can expect from Planet Melancholia is an ambitious movie and even if it ends up been the greatest movie ever created, Lars Von Trier will still have endless number of so called critics waiting to fire there opinions at him.

Dead Slowly Trailer 01

Dead Slowly trailer01 from Titain Red on Vimeo.

This weird trailer I found at the excellent QUIETEARTH website. The trailer is for Hong Kong movie Dead Slowly (慢性中毒) and reading the synopsis Quietearth have been given it doesnt say too much about what the film is actually about, but here's the synopsis:
"Depicts a man who gets into a motorcycle accident, his wife Mei, younger sister, and mother. It also tells the story of Ying, a young woman, who is murdered in their home, policeman Jing who is investigating the case, and his wife Yin, who is having an affair with a fellow policeman. They are all connected. The more Jing tries to solve the case, the more cryptic their relationship becomes, and past memories come to light." - (IMDB)

This movie will premiere at the Busan Film Festival in South Korea which is currently running until October 16th.

Precious - Trailer 2

today second offical trailer for Lee Daniels Precious was posted by Lionsgate movies. This movie has been doing the festival circuit worldwide since early 2009 and has been picking up numerous awards wherever the movie was shown and to me this is a sign of a great movie.
The movie is an emotional rollercoaster ride about Clareece "Precious" Jones, is an overweight, illiterate African-American teen in Harlem. Just as she's about to give birth to her second child, Jones is accepted into an alternative school where a teacher helps her find an alternative path in her life. One of the other big highlight of the movie for some was Mariah Carey and how well she performed in the movie.
The movie is based on a novel called Push by Sapphire and also stars Lenny Kravitz, Gabourey 'Gabby' Sidibe  as Clareece and Mo'Nique
Ther's no word of when or if this movie will be released in the U.K however if you happen to be in London in the next few weeks it is part of the BF London  Film Festival. Movie will see a limited release in USA November 25th

La Doppia Ora Trailer

Here is another fine trailer for a movie which will premiere at the BFI London Film festival, its for the slick Italian thriller LA DOPPIA ORA (The Double Hour).

Through a speed-dating evening, an ex-cop meets and embarks on a faltering romance with a beautiful woman who works as a maid in a motel. Almost as soon as their relationship commences, crime and violence intervene. There is a murder investigation and everything, which is not at all the way it seemed, is turned upside down.

(plot source SCREENRUSH)

The will be shown during next weeks BFI London Film Festival and will go on national release in Italy and I have lived a few years in Italy and this will do very well at the cinema and can help get the Italian cinema scene a nice boost and get them back up on the international scene.

Metropia Theatrical Trailer

The great thing about running your own blog is when you surf through the many great websites and video sharing website there is available and finding great, some bad, some really weird trailers. I found this trailer today on TwitchFilm and its for animation called METROPIA, set in a dark Kafka-esque Dystopian world where everyone speaks English where surveillance cameras dominate the landscape and the worlds transport system is in massive tunnels ubderneath the sprwaling metropolis. The city is Stockholm Sweden and Roger is a young man who is becoming very aleart and alarmed about the coperate dominated world and the earie Television shows the deal with life and death. Paranoia eventually kicks in and Roger starts to here voices in his head and wonders if he is been controlled.
The trailer has a big thanks to Orwell's 1984, its very dark, gloomy and even some of the movies content is reality now (surveillance cameras). This movie has been created Tarik Saleh and the animation includes a few well known actors lending their voice Vincent Gallo (Roger), Juliette Lewis, (nina), Udo Kier, Stellan Skarsgard and Alexander Skarsgard (who lost out to Chris Hemsworth for the 2011 Thor movie).
The movie is due to be released in Sweden November 6th but in U.K it will be played at the upcoming BFI London Film Festival which starts on 14Th October.

LUCKY LUKE TRAILER

I found this one on Twitchfilm and they have been going on about this for a while. This is an live action adaption of the popular French comicbook of the same name and comic Jean Dujardinn takes the lead role in the James version.
The comic book was created by René Goscinny who also created Asterix comicbooks and the live action version of those nosedived in English speaking countries I dont think they'll be much hope for this to do well, so expect a DVD release. It is however going to be released in Canada but then again part of Canada are french speaking!!!
Lucky Luke will be released in France & Belgium October 21st

Bunny And The Bull: Milk Clip

Here is a clip for Bunny And The Bull the directoral debut for Paul King, the director of the obscure British comedy the Mighty Boosh. Bunny and the Bull is his new project and is a strange road movie set in a person's flat! The reclouse main character hasn't left his house for many months and with his house been infested with sorts of vermin, through his memories and memento's he relives the memories of a trek around Europe with his friend the Bunny.
Im not going to say this is rubbish or even funny as I've honesty never watched the Mighty Boosh but looking other websites and magazines this will be full of all the trimmings and gags you expect to see in the comedy series. The movie also includes the Mighty Boosh duo themselves Noel Fielding and Julian Barrat, along with simon Farnaby, Waleed Khalid and Edward Hogg.

Im unsure what form this movie will be released in (Cinema or DVD) but I do know it'll be out in the U.K and Ireland on November 27th.
