Next Week SXSW Festival in Austin Texas USA will kick off and one of the movies playing there is a hit from this years Sundance Film Festival Tom McCarthy's WIN WIN.
The movie stars Paul Giamatti as Mike who takes a kid called Kyle from a troubled home who is a star at wrestling and he is a coach helping him be sucessful. Things are looking great for all until Kyle’s mum (Melanie Lynskey) comes back on the scene threatening to destablize everything.Similarities to The Blindside but alot funnier and when you mix Paul Giamattti with indie comedy you are on to a winner.Its a shame Giamatti is so underrated as he is one of Hollywood's better actors but thankfully like this movie and Barney's Version he is now getting a little more recognition.
Fox Searchlight have released a barreload of goodies for this movie starting witha new tv spot, a featurette from the movie which is getting a limited released in USA from March 18th (no word yet on UK release). Amy Ryan, Jeffrey Tambor, Melanie Lynskey, Bobby Cannavale and Alex Shaffer co -star WIN WIN.
