New Trailer For Yu Gu's THE KIDNAP

No comments:
source 24fps
A new trailer for Yu Gu's "loosely based true Story" THE KIDNAP Has an new trailer which you can check out after the break. If your like me and believe  television in uk& ireland is dominated by pointless reality programmes including x-factor that pop culture has taken a dive so its  good to see a movie like THE KIDNAP. The reason why is down to the movies a gangland thriller with a cautionary tale about the horrific price you can pay for the quest for fame has just opened in China, and theres a new trailer to take a gander at. Kidnap centres on two young women named Nana and Lin who aspire to become famous singers and sign deals with the same record company. Nana becomes an overnight superstar after sleeping with her boss. But Lin's career faces a crisis when she refuses to do the same and is kidnapped and terrorised by gangsters.

The First Trailer for Kar Wai Wong's THE GRANDMASTERS (Yut doi jung si)

When you sometimes talk to so called 'movie fans' about world cinema I just love the reaction they give, its all the same, the yawning expression, not interested, why? "Its Boring " "why?, its in subtitles!". What they meant there lazy and will only watch it when its either dubbed or be destroyed by a mediocre hollywood remake. I admit for a few years I was like that but now ive opened my eyes and I see some wonderfull movies so diverse in styles, decents stories,etc...
Today I clocked the new teaser trailer for Wong Kar Wai's The Grandmasters and going by what we see in this teaser trailer its fuel for those foreign movie haters. Okay that maybe a tad niave as this movie isnt even out in its homeland China yet (February 2011 according to Imdb), so it is expected to be in its native language only. When a Wong Kar Wai movie is coming out you tend to take notice of it, but he seems to let himself down a bit with his heavy handing of lengthy  post productions and endless reliance on orchastrated set pieces. If youlove calligraphy you like this trailer as its all in traditional style Chinese writing but dont expect any any looks at what the movie has to offer as theres none at the moment.
Like the source of this post I agree dont be surprise if this appears at Cannes!

IFC Films Release THE Trailer For THE OTHER WOMAN Starring Natalie Portman

No comments:
sourceTHEPEOPLESMOVIES
IFC Films via Yahoo have released the offical trailer for THE OTHER WOMAN which is directed by Don Roos and stars Natalie Portman, Scott Cohen, Lisa Kudrow and Lauren Ambrose.
The story of this movie is about Emilia (Portman) a lawyers assistant who marries her boss (Cohen) away from jealous ex-wife (Kudrow), she becomes pregent but sadly tradegy strikes as their newborn baby dies. Trying to come to terms with and coping with the grief she finds it hard to connect with her new stepson William (Cahrlie Tahan) but things are made difficult with Williams mum constantly intefering.
2011 is going to some year for Natalie Portman after several years of poor movies it seems things are looking up with Black Swan only 3 weeks away (21 Jan) and a certain Oscar nomination. She also has No Strings Attached, Your Highness and of Course Thor to look forward to but in personal life she is now engaged to Black Swan fellow producer Benjamin Millepied whom she is also pregent with so this movie is a good insight into some of the tribulations of motherhood she could experience.
This movie was originally called ‘Love and Other Impossible Pursuits based on a Ayelet Waldman novel which originally premiered at Toronto Film Festival in 2009 but dissapeared of the movie radar but now it will be released next week on VOD before its February 4th 2011 American cinematic release, nothing yet on a UK release. "Never Outrun Whats In Your Blood" Trailer For

No comments:
I love watching adventure travel programmes where people pack up mimimal things get on a bike and travel around the world or at least a famous trade route.Charlie Boorman  did a few great programmes with his friend Ewan MaGregor on bikes plus 2 (By Any Means) by himself, so I wasnt surprised when I noticed hes in a movie which has a travel theme in it well its TRAVELLERS.

The movie is a independent thriller about 4 friends who set out on a motorcycle adventure weekend, clocking up miles in an attempt to outrun their age and urban lifestyles. After bartering with a local land owner for a place to set up camp, they spend the night reminiscing over their wasted youth. The following morning they spot an ominous looking caravan, and decide to investigate. Within minutes, an idiotic prank leads to a series of brutal events and a deadly race for survival. A modern plunge back into the worlds created by movies such as 'Deliverance' and 'Southern Comfort' but with a gritty British twang. Kidnap, murder and a hidden past are just some of the reasons these four adventurers should have stayed at home. An action thriller that will make you question who the villains really are. You cant outrun what's in your blood.
The movie also stars Shane Sweeney, Tom Geoffrey and Alex Edwards and Dean S. Jagger and the movie will get a limited cinema release on January 13th before its released on dvd February 7th. Its just ironic Charley Boormans dad John (and himself appeared in it) was the director of Deliverence, just surpise Boorman's not been in more movies or at least tv dramas, thats life for you!

Exsistence is Futile enter the maze of Life In Trailer for EXIT

No comments:

Source TWITCH
When you check out your usual sources for trailers for new movies and when that source hasn't got a clue what the hell are they watching it can make it a little more intriguing to check out. EXIT is an Austrailan movie which seems to study life and the many doors we open , the many doors we close and the towns and cities we live in are a massive maze, we dont know whats next or behind that door the meaning of existence.
The movie has a big arthouse feel to it, then it breaks into experimentalist obscurity really hard to pigeonhole the story. The movie has a big inspiration from David Lynch, Darren Aronofksy so whats behind your door?

Watch HITLER KAPUT, A Russian Comedy which has Jean Claude Van Damme in it (apparently!)

No comments:
source TWITCH
In the traditional words of Monty Python..."Now For Something Completely Different!" Well it is if your the mussels From Brussels Jean Claude Van Damme. If you thought JVD's career had already slipped down into shitcreek wellits becomeing a real silly laughing matter now as he's been casted into Russian slapstick comedy(in 3d) Ржевский против Наполеона (HILTER KAPUT)!
Formerly called Napoleon Kaput Van Damme is to play a French Soldier under Napoleon's command but there isnt a still or a clip yet to prove he's actually in it apart from a clip from MTV Russia (sorry english subs) annoucing he will be in it.
Either Jean Claude Van Damme has plenty money to waste or hes in a dire desperation needing the cash this is total rank and any hope of reconciling his career will go out the window even if he does appear in Expendables 2. There's more chance of Mel Gibson winning forgiveness than JVD making a decent movie ever again after this!!!

Icelandic Dark Comedy STORMLAND Has a Trailer

No comments:

sourceTWITCH
There's something movies that the more dark the humour is the more I sadistically enjoy it, throw in a bit of obscurity Ill probably enjoy it even if I dont get the humour. Marteinn Thorsson's STORMLAND (Rokland) is one of those movies its based on a popular novel by Hallgrímur Helgason and is a story about a very bitter man from the northern part of the island. He is obbessed about the local viking legend, Nietzsche and the girl at the post office but when he looses his job at the school he takes out his anger online blogging about the locals, Of course there not happy and he ends up a social outcast.
The movie could easily be created by  Terry Gillam mixed in with some Big Lebowski totally crazy and they throw in a little animation which is fairly new for Icelandic filmmaking but not elesewhere. Check out the trailer above and the movie will be out January 14th in Iceland.

Who said it was just Hollywood who could just create the big glossy blockbuster action flicks? No one did and if there somebody they never told Belgian filmmaker
Jérôme Salle. On 16th February, 2011 LARGO WINCH 2 will be released in Belgium a movie based on the popular graphic Novels created by Philippe Francq about a young man who inherits a massive empire after his adoptive father is murdered.
Is it me does this sound like Green Hornet mixed up with James Bond plus a few other movies im sure I can think off?!Im not saying this is a bad thing  well they do have a few leg openers in the form of some fantastic car chases and Sharon Stone (Cleese in south Africa and Kietel in SouthKorea, times must be hard here!).
Largo Winch comicbooks are really popular in the French speaking parts of the world but Forbidden Planet comicbooks do have in stock the english language version of the books!!!
LARGO WINCH 2: THE BURMA CONSPIRACY is out in Belgium on February 16th,2011 trailer after the break...

The Minster For Funny Walks John Cleese Stars in South African Movie SPUD

No comments:
source TWITCH
He may not be a mega filmstar but he's an iconic comedian from the legendary Monty Python Team, John Cleese is now starring in a South African Family movie SPUD.
The movie is based on a popular schoolboy comedy based on books of the same name and the amazing thing about the cinemas in south africa there not dominated by Hollywood blockbusters, its this movie! I think we can say South Afriacan cinema is on the ascendacy after 2009's sucess of District9 which put the nation of the cinematic map which lets them now hire international stars, you could say this is a little bit like Burt Lancaster and his bit for Scottish film in Local Hero?

South Africa, the early 1990s. John "Spud" Milton has embarked on his first year at an elite, boys-only private school. Cursed with parents from well beyond the lunatic fringe, a senile granny, and a dormitory full of strange characters, Spud has to forge a new life for himself in this foreign and sometimes hostile environment. Surrounded by names such as Gecko, Rambo, Rain Man and Mad Dog, Spud takes his first tentative steps along the path toward manhood. Armed with only his wits and his diary, Spud takes us from illegal night swimming to the cricket field, from ghost busting to teacher baiting. He also invites us into the mind of a boy struggling to come to terms with a strange new world; a boy whose eyes are being opened to love, friendship and complete insanity.
