Having a search through the mysterious world called the world wide web to bring you some goodies for you to enjoy and came across this little cracker of a movie short starring "I'm in everything British made " Noel Clarke.
The short movie is called REIGN OF DEATH and was created by Matthew Savage it's a CGI short movie similar in style as 300, Sin City. When you watch the trailer it's like a fallback to the old film noir mixed up with fritz lang inspired sci-fi...pulp science fiction! It's a simple story of  a 1930s vision of the future and gumshoe chases down a robotic murder suspect, the movie came out last year but cinehouse wasn't around when this came out, so enjoy!

Trailer For Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phamtom Flame Trailer

source Filmsmash

When I first spotted this trailer before I even looked at the link or what the movie was about it sounded like it was a scooby doo type movie and how wrong I was. The movies title ( Di Renjie - original name)  Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phamtom Flame is enough to attract any one to find out more!.
D-project (its short name) stars Andy Lau (Future X-Cops, The Warlords) and Bingbing Li (the forbidden Kindom) in a Action crime thriller  as well been set not in modern day but 690AD. As if said many times on this blog the Chinese/Hong Kong know how to create period movies is spectacular fashion and this one is big!
This time last year I was in Guangzhou, China and everywhere you went as well on TV Andy Lau was everywhere on Pepsi & Shampoo billboards, tv ads he is big money ! He is actully remaking What Woman Want the Mel Gibson movie it seems to be a deal that some of the hollywood  movies to be remade into asian movies (theres a japanese version of Ghost coming too), well think about it Hollywood is always looking at the foreign movie market for new movies usually destroying them, so why cant it be reversed? dont blame them

Won Bin is a man on a mission a mission to suceed and become the new kid on the block with the international action movie genre, showing many similarities of a young Chow Yun Fat. You can see how weel Bin fare'sin the second trailer of THE MAN FROM NOWHERE.

The new trailer is a little longer than the first trailer but with this trailer we do get to see how the action & story  will fold out in the movie and we're very very impressed in what we're seeing. I still dont know if this movie will make any appearence on a big screen here (more likely DVD) but you can catch Won Bin on August 20th when he is the lead male in Bong  Joon Ho's Mother finally has an theatrical release in UK, a completely (and acclaimed performance) different style of movie.

Trailer For Chow Yun Fat's New movie LET THE BULLETS FLY

Early days for this movie weren't looking with it even missing possibly the festivals but thankfully it made Cannes and now several months on here is  Jiang Wen’s LET THE BULLETS FLY. offical trailer.

This looks a visually fantastic looking Period piece and its one thing I can say about the Chinese when it comes to period based movies they go all out to make it as authentic  as possible in a grand scale and it has a rock music score to compliment it. You know sometimes they things happen for a reason, maybe the delay was the best thing to happen to this movie as it looks mighty fine movie!

Movie stars Chow Yun-fat, Ge You, Carina Lau, Fan Liao, and Yun Zhou and will be in Chinese cinemas from  December 16th.

Teaser For Spanish Horror (or Thriller) VERBO

No comments:
Source ShockTilYouDrop
Alot of things in movieworld get typecast be it certain actors or the movie and its origin, so when we talk about Spain these days it tends to be gripping horror/thrillers.When it's the Horror genre there's a little checklist: Does it have director/producers from The Orphanage or Pan's Labyrinth? is it a Horror? is it a Thriller? or cant you tell? if you tick all the boxes on this checklist, it's Spanish! But nowdays the Spanish movies are very confusing when you cant tell which genre the movie should fall under, but what should be more import is the movie any good?
Verbo ticks all the box of the checklist with Eduardo Chapero-Jackson  who wrote and directed the movie which does look quite good despite his fetish for lightsticks! The soundtrack and visual effects do build this movie up to be a epic intense film.
Teaser Trailer after the break....

The story follows Sara, a teenager who doesn't understand the world in which she lives. Only Liriko, a mysterious character who projects enigmatic messages across the city, seems to understand her. Her search for meaning in this often depressing world will lead her to a secret place, where she will embark on a great adventure towards life, or death. If she succeeds, Sara could finally be able to leave her mark on the world.

INSOMNIA Director Returns with Heist Movie NOKAS

Source Gordon The Whale
About 8 years ago a little unknown Christopher Nolan remade Insomnia which was based on a 1997 Norweigan movie also called Insomnia by a director called Erik Skjoldbjærg (who did get acknowledge in the remake).Skjoldbaerg hasn't dont much on the big screen for about 5 years and he return with an impressive looking Heist movie called NOKAS
The movie is very and violent but at the same time you get the feeling that the criminals in mind are slightly glorified in the way the criminals in Ocean's franchise, the inspiration is varied especially a big influence from Japanese movies like Rashomon (which is on a limited cinematical release in UK at the moment). This just looks good and would love to review this, highly unlikely I'll see it, but if you do send us a review and share it with us here at Cinehouse!
Nokas will be out October 1st in Norway, trailer after the break...
