Away back in November just after the release of Paranormal Activity in UK it was expected to be the usual barrelload of rip-off movies  but there wasn't. However a short teaser trailer for what has now been regarded as the British answer to Paranormal Activity it's  The Possession of David O'Reilly.
I didnt take much notice of the teaser away back in the winter simply because it was only 30 seconds long and nothing really happened until the last 3 or 4 seconds but we have a full on trailer which you can watch below.
The movie is of lower budget but dont let that put you off this movie as it does look like it has been put together very well, and it does deliver by just feeding us with little snippets of scary moments. Looking at it's imdb page it doesnt give much of a synopsis apart from a

a terrifying supernatural shockumentary about a demonic presence in a young couple's home in London

Looking at the trailer which is creepy, jumpy and alot of WTF Was that moments that do keep you gripped to the story suggesting there's a lot more that meets the eye here. What I do like is that we do get glimpses of the demons that attack the victims rather than invisable demonic forces which can only scare you so much onscreen

The movie is in post production and was directed by Andrew Cull  as for who's in it it stars Giles Anderson (Damn United, Colin Todd) and a cast of unknown actors/actress but Paranormal didnt have known stars in it and look what happend to that!!!

The movie is in post production, as for when its released there's no date yet or even if its a cinema or dvd release.

There's loads low budget movies out there some disguise themselves as comedies and just crap to put it mildly but you do get the ocasional cracker that is actually funny and I think we can say THE MOLEMAN OF BELMOUNT MOVIE is one those that falls into the category of a small budget funny movie.
It might be a small budget but it has a big name is horror movies, the original Freddy Kreuger aka the iconic Robert Englund in its cast!!! Reading the source post the movies cast and crew have come from the comedy scene in Chicago so comedy parts should come naturally to them, so whats it all about?

Marion and Jarmon Mugg have never had to work very hard.  They’ve never had much responsibility, and no one has ever put any expectations on them to perform or achieve, well… anything.
But two years ago their mother died, leaving them the brownstone apartment building that has been in the family since its days as a speakeasy during Prohibition.  In that short time, their slacker ways have run the building into the ground.  The tenants are moving out, no one but them and their friends drinks at the bar on the ground floor, and the building’s pets are going missing.  If all that isn’t enough to make them sit up and take notice, there’s also a good chance that a monster is living in the basement.
“The Mole Man of Belmont Avenue” is a horror/ comedy that explores what happens when a terrible situation is dropped into the laps of the two people least equipped to deal with it.  The Brothers Mugg can either step up to the plate and finally grow up, or they can wait and clean up the mess as a mysterious creature eats every living thing in the building, one by one. - Offical website Synopsis

If you follow my mainstream movie blog The Peoples Movies I posted a trailer for THE TROTSKY, a comedy drama starring Jay Baruchel  as a college student Leon who believes he is the reincarnation of Russian idioligist Leon Trotsky and after having a hunger strike at his father's Papa Clothing Factory. As punishment Leon is sent to the public school and brings a whole new meaning to the student union and his opportunity to live out his destiny and change the world.
When I posted the first trailer the movie dodnt have a distributor and was basically doing the rounds at 2009 film festivals and was getting decent reviews. Alliance Films have picked up the rights and the movie is due to be released in Canada on May 14 but there's no UK or Irish release but theres a good chance of a limited release  possibly late this year.

Check out the trailer below:
