GFF 2011: First Poster For Richard Ayoade's SUBMARINE

Via MTV, Optimum Releasing have released the first offical poster for ‘I.T Crowd”s Richard Ayoade’s movie SUBMARINE which will be released in UK on March 18th. The movie is the actor’s directoral feature debut and the movie has already gathered alot of aclaim from its appearances at Toronto, London and recently Sundance Film Festivals and the movie will make its Scottish debut when it appears at next Months Glasgow Film festival (playing at GFT on 18, 19 Feb).

This isnt Ayoade’s first time behind the camera he has already worked on the directing for other Uk Tv series such as Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace along with music videos for such bands as Vampire Weekend & Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and once you watch the movie you can see similar style Ayoade has used through previous work. I’ve never been the massive fans of IT Crowd however I do like the American version better The Big Bang Theroy but reading Collider’s description of Submarine as a indie version of Scott Pilgrim but minus the pop culture & video gaming replacing it with a coming of age story of a 15 year old boy trying to loose his virginity, it sounds rude but stylishly done. I might try catch this at next months Glasgow Film Festival.

The movie has been produced by Ben Stiller with Noah Taylor, Paddy Considine, Craig Roberts, Yasmin Paige and Sally Hawkins, starrring.
