Shinpei Hayashiya's RAKUGO MONOGATARI has received a new trailer to promote its release in Japan on March 12th. Even though this maybe comedy this movie could be seen as a unusal movie for Hayashiya to make as hes made a repuation of creating low budget sci-fi movies such as Reigo, the Deep-Sea Monster vs. the Battleship Yamato, though according to the trailer source this movie is loosely based on his own experiences as he was once a Rakugo performer.
Rakugo Story is a comedy about Masato (Wasabi Yanagiya) who witness a Rakugo performance which inspires him so much to become a apprentice under the watchful eye of Master Koroku Imadoya (Pierre Taki). Masato is given the name Koharu before been promoted to Zenza (opening act) which makes him a really busy person trying to juggle the perfances and his life with his wife Aoi (Tomoko Tabata) a incident happens which pushes Koharu into the centre spotlight.
