As we wait for the release of X-Men:First Class trailer to surface online, a promo trailer for BUNRAKUhas slipped under the radar but the guys at Quiet Earth have been able to get there hands on the trailer. Bunraku first premiered back at Toronto Film Festival in September but no trailer was made just some images but in November a 30 second teaser did appear but still wrapped in mystery. Thankfully this trailer does enlighten the story a little and it does look very cheesy but fantastic looking at the same time. The whole visual style is the catch here very stylistic awesome looking martial arts meets spaghetti western with plenty of coregraphed fight scenes to make this a very interesting movie to check out.
The movie stars Josh Harnett as a mysterious drifter with Gackt a young Japanese warrior arrive in a town terrorised by outrageous and virulent criminals. The drifter gets guidance from the bartender (Woody Harrelson) and the pair team up to bring down the corruption that rife in their town of Bunraku. The movie also stars Demi Moore, Ron Perlman and Kevin McKidd and this does look really very whacky but a bit of over the top as well think old school Batman on the set of Beetlejuice with the cast of Kill bill! Yep its a bit on the crazy side ! The movie has had mixed reviews probably due to the movie length been over 2 hours but if you dont take things too seriously Bunraku maybe right up your street!
