When it comes to all out zany comedy you cant go go wrong with the Japanese. To many Westerners eyes it may just look to surreal probably thinking WTF! But in Japan this humour is the beesknees. Step forward KOCHIKAME: THE MOVIE (Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo THE MOVIE: Kachidokibashi o Fusaseyo!) based on manga series by Osamu Akimoto Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo which ran for 13 years between 1996 and 2009, the movie is an continuation of the drama from 2009.
The movie stars Shingo Katori as Kankichi Ryotsu who gets involved in various misadventures adventures involving the people around his police box in front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo and he has a chance ecounter with an old school crush Momoko(Kyôko Fukada). He soon learns the Police chief granddaughter is kidnapped and that Momoko maybe be involved and sets out to discover the truth.
Kochikame will be released in Japan on August 6th, 2011, watch the new teaser trailer below:
