Trailer For Documentary TATSUMI

Comic book artists are a talented bunch of people and sadly many people dont give them the credit they truely deserve. In the west many beleive comics are for children and thats the end of the matter but we do know they are for everyone, genres, stories to cater all tastes and ages but in the west we only seem to see the mainstream American comics from Marvel & DC as well as the comics from closer to home labelling them just for kids. Japan is an fine example of a nation who sees the comic book or manga as a form of entertainment for all and the country does provide some astonishing stories not just in 2,3, 4 or 5 pages but hundred's to thousands of pages. Some of the art is simple others are just fantastic and one manga artist who is an inspiration to many is Yoshihiro Tatsumi.
Just like in the west Japanese manga artist do have a similar style of drawing there comics and like here they do have an alternative style or gekiga and Tatsumi is seen as on of Japanese first alternative comic book artists and below is the trailer for TATSUMI. The movie has been created by Eric Khoo which is part biography, part auto biography combining the artist short stories brought to life through the artists work, hard to describe overall but its like the director is the conduit rather than the creator.
