Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Ken Loach, Werner Herzog, Luc Besson and Wim Wenders are just some of the legendary directors who feature in the new QFT programme, a veritable ‘who’s who’ of cinematic greats!

To coincide with the launch of QFT’s new three year partnership with Jameson Irish Whiskey there will be a very special Jameson presents... screening of the Martin Scorsese classic, GoodFellas on Saturday 7 May.  The event will feature complimentary Jameson and pizza courtesy of Little Wing Pizza, as well as music, spot prizes and much more!

Woody Allen returns to London for the fourth time with You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (Friday 22 April – Thursday 5 May), a star-studded return to form which follows two married couples as their passions, ambitions, and anxieties lead them into trouble and out of their minds.

Route Irish (Friday 8 – Thursday 21 April) marks Ken Loach’s return to the thriller genre in a hard-edged intricately plotted drama of the Iraq War.  The film looks at the morality of war through the story of two best friends working as private security agents in Iraq.

In Cave of Forgotten Dreams (Friday 15 – Thursday 21 April), Werner Herzog takes us deep behind the frontier of the Chauvet Cave in southern France, where the world’s oldest cave paintings were discovered in 1994.

The Mummy meets Tomb Raider meets Raiders of the Lost Ark in Luc Besson’s The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec (Friday 22 April – Thursday 5 May), a gloriously fun, fantastically silly family adventure based on the cult French comic series written by Jacques Tardi.

Winner of the Special Jury Prize and Best Actor awards at the 2010 Venice Film Festival, Essential Killing (Friday 8 – Thursday 21 April) is the stunning new film by veteran Polish auteur Jerzy Skolimowski. The film is an allegorical tale about a man (Vincent Gallo) who is captured in Afghanistan by US forces and subject to interrogation and rendition.

Wim Wenders pays tribute to his friend, late dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch with Pina (Friday 6 – Thursday 12 May).  The film takes the viewer on a sensual, visually stunning journey of discovery right onto the stage of Bausch’s legendary ensemble and out into the surrounding landscape of her home town of Wuppertal.

Inception star Marion Cotillard heads up Little White Lies (Friday 22 April – Thursday 5 May), a sharp comedy of the Parisian bourgeoisie on holiday, from Tell No One director Guillaume Canet.

Easter sees two reissued classics return to the big screen at QFT.  Les Diaboliques (Friday 22 – Monday 25 April) by Henri-Georges Clouzot follows two women who conspire to murder their abusive husband/lover, while Man of Aran (Friday 22 – Monday 25 April), is a restoration of the classic 1934 documentary following the hardships of daily life experienced by a family living and working on the Aran Islands.

The QFT April-May programme concludes with a four day Focus on Latin America (Monday 9 – Thursday 12 May), a look at standout films from Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Brazil over the past decade.
