3 New Clips From Takashi Miike's ICHIMEI (HARA-KIRI: DEATH OF A SAMURAI)

Hot on the heels of his fantastic 13 assassins Takashi Miike's returns to the era of the samurai with ICHIMEI (HARA-KIRI: DEATH OF A SAMURAI). The movie is just off its world premiere last week at Cannes Film Festival surprisingly to mixed reviews simply down to been to melodramatic for a 3D Movie personally for a movie like this shouldn't be a 3D movie .

Now the festival is over Miike will now concentrate on promoting the movie for its Japanese release on October 7th (The movie probably wont make it to the cinema until 2012 in UK & Ireland) and we have 3 new clips from the movie which gives us a little better insight in what to expect from the movie and from what we can see if you enjoyed the 13 Assassins you will enjoy this one. The movie contains the visual style and emotion to be a decent movie but it further asks the question about the need of movies to be remade some necessary  others just a simple vessel to milk the paying public with more cash by remaking a movie again and throwing in the unglorious 3D.

These clips come courtey of the good folks at Wildgrounds who give a more detailed description of the clips.Movie stars kabuki actor Ichikawa Ebizo as Hanshirô Tsugumo, Eita as Motome Chijiiwa, Mitsushima Hikarias Miho Tsugumo and Yakusho Koji as Kageyu Saitô.

Seeking an honorable end, poverty-stricken samurai Hanshiro requests to commit hara-kiri in the courtyard of feudal lord Kageyu’s estate. Trying to dismiss Hanshiro’s wish to save face, Kageyu recounts the tragic story of a similar plea years ago from young ronin Motome. But the arrogant lord is unaware of vengeful Hanshiro’s bond to;Motome…
