Yuya Ishii’s Azemichi no Dandy has had its full trailer premiered via Youtube.
The movie tells the story of Junichi a 50 year old single father who was bullied at at school and made a promise to himself when he's older he would be really cool. Since his wife died 15 years previously with cancer he has been raising his 2 children a 19 year old unemployed son Toshiya and 18 year old daughter Momoko who is an senior in her last year at school. He works all hours of the day as a truck driver struggling to give what his kids want and one day when he's feeling ill he becomes obbessed he now has cancer. Convinced this is the end he goes about to sort his life borrowing money from his best friend Sanada but in his never ending attempt to be cool he refuses to burden his children with his problems.
Azemichi no Dandy is in Japanese Cinema's from June 18th. Movie stars Ken Mitsuishi, Ryô Iwamatsu and Ryû Morioka
