A First Look at Quebec an Drama MARECAGES

Its actually great to see that not every young director is blinded by the limelight of Hollywood and actually try starting from the bottom, those start at the bottom do realise not everything is hunky dory at the end of the yellow brick road. Cinehouse no matter if the movie is deemed good or bad always likes to support young filmmakers and Quebec is providing  a fairshare of the new upcoming talent Xavier Dolan is prime example who made a name for himself with I Killed My Mother a movie I was fortunate to see at 2010 Glasgow Film Festival.

There is another name we can add to the list thats Guy Edoin whose new movie MARECAGES is the filmmakers feature debut, which is set in the rural eastern side of Quebec provide with some beautifully haunting shots of the region. As for the story information is very scarce but what we know is " On a dairy farm in the Eastern Townships, in the middle of a drought and while the land is parched, a drama will disrupt the life of the Santerre family. Confronted to each other, they will have to learn to forgive."
The film, which stars Pascale Buissieres, Luc Picard and Gabriel Maille, is scheduled for release later this year in Canada/Quebec.
