Whatever you think of China we do know the people are proud of their heritage, history just like many other nations worldwide but many people are quick to point out injustices of other countries when those accusers maybe at times looking a little closer to home. 2011 is an important year on the Chinese calender as it marks the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Revolution of 1911 when Sun Yat-Sen over threw the ruling Qing Dynasty the starting block of modern day Chinese Communism. BEGINNING OF THE GREAT REVIVAL (or Founding of A Party) is Sanping Han, Jianxin Huang's follow up to there 2009 Blockbuster Found Of A Republic and follows the story of the early days of China's early leaders Mao Zedong, Chiang Kai-shek and Zhou Enlai, tracing the revolution between 1911 to 1921 and the formation of Communist Park. This movie boasts a who's who of Chinese cinema alot of names know in the west including Chow Yun Fat, Andy Lau, Bing Bing Fan, Liu Ye, Daniel Wu and even film director John Woo.
2011 is certainly a year to be patriotic if your Chinese as this movie is one of 28 movies been comissioned to celebrate the year with one of those other been Jackie Chan's 1911. No word yet on when this movie will arrive in UK&Ireland (plus if its cinema or direct to dvd) but the Chinese & American release will happen the same day and that day is June 17th, check out the trailer below:
