The last few days there's been bootlegged footage of this film been posted online but thankfully early today Warner Bros have released the full trailer for CONTAGION. The movie reportedly marks' the end' of Steven Soderbergh's reign as a director and he's went for a big name cast (& Soderbergh Regulars) to act out his final swan song: Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Lawrence Fishbourne, Bryan Cranston, Demitri Martin and Elliott Gould.
CONTAGION tells the terrifying tale of a fast moving virus outbreak, a lethal virus that kills its victims in the matter of days spreading worldwide like wildfire leaving the world's best medical minds struggling to find the source along with a possible cure. Right away your mind thinks back to the mid 1990's and Wolfgang Petersen's Outbreak but soon as we get to the 60 second mark the catalyst for the movie hits when one of the main cast dies! This shows no one is safe, not even the big star names!
Soderbergh has went for a realistic horror approach instead of the post apocalyptic zombie feel. The past decade we've already witnessed 'little samples' of the devastation of SARS/Bird Flu epidemic this can happen, maybe CONTAGION may hit a few nerves with some we're not safe! People will struggle, Society will crumble.
CONTAGION will arrive on American shores from September 9th but for all of us here in UK & Ireland we'll have to wait until October 21st.
Contagion follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days.
