Icon Distribution late this afternoon have sent us the new UK Trailer and poster For David MacKenzie’s T-In-The Park Festival comedy music drama YOU INSTEAD. Mackenzie has the unique but not unsual feat that he’ll have 2 movies released in same year, actually week:YOU INSTEAD September 16th and Perfect Sense an apocalyptic romance flick starring Ewan MacGregor & Eva Green October 7th.
I attempted to see this movie when it had its World Premier in Glasgow (with all cast & crew present) failed miserably as it sold out within 5 minutes of going on sale, I asked a so called ‘expert’ why they’re s such a buzz for this film his reply was “Its David MacKenzie!” and he told me no more about this relatively unknown filmmaker. last week was the 2011 T-In -The Park festival which was previewed on the main stage the night before the festival started for those music revellers who were setting up their tents before the weekend of music mayhem.
Shot guerrilla-style, over five days during T in the Park in the summer of 2010, YOU INSTEAD is a free-wheeling rock’n’roll love story set against the raucous magnificence and unforgettable sounds of Scotland’s leading music festival. The film features a charismatic performance from Luke Treadaway as strutting indie star Adam. Arriving at T in the Park for his gig, Adam is handcuffed to punky girl-band leader Morello. Initial frustration gives away to grudging acceptance and then the stirring of genuine feelings over the next 24 hours of the festival.
