Full Trailer For Noomi Rapace Thriller Babycall

If it wasn't for Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy's worldwide success Noomi Rapace may have just another name on the wall and the thought of actually seeing the talented actress making her break into Hollywood with Sherlock Holmes 2, Prometheus plus several other possible projects would have been a distant dream. However if you read into several interviews Noomi did with English speaking press, the Swedish actress was content showing off her talents in her native homeland though as we know now her talent is under demand from Hollywood's Elite and it was just a matter of time before the lure of big time would see her head to Tinseltown.

Like many successful franchise the main actors need to move on to pastures new and Rapace is no different and for her next flick she is sticking to the thriller genre with BABYCALL. Back in January we gave you the movies short teaser trailer but now 7 months on the movies full trailer arrives thanks to our friends at Twitch. The movies plot describes Rapace's character as "a woman hiding with her young baby after getting out of an abusive relationship" sadly its a scenario too many woman of all ages worldwide are experiencing (or experienced). Just when you things start to show some improvement her life is turned upside down when her baby's monitor picks up signals from a neighbouring flat, a dreadful sound not of a baby but of an person been killed.

Anna and her 8-year old son, Anders, are on the run from Anders' violent father. They move to a secret address in a giant apartment building. Anna is terrified that her ex-husband will find them and buys a babycall to make sure Anders is safe while he sleeps. But strange noises echoe in the babycall from elsewhere in the building. Anna overhears what she believes is the murder of a child. Meanwhile, Anders gets a mysterious, dark-haired friend who comes and goes a she wants. Does Anders' friend know something about the sounds in the babycall? Why is there blood on Anders' drawing? Are they still in danger?

Another reason I have such admiration for Scandinavian actors is their ability to act not just in their native tongue but also in neighbouring countries language, Noomi Rapace is Swedish but this is a Norwegian film by Pål Sletaune (Naboer). This movie is an dark powerful tale and after witnessing Rapace play Lisbeth Salander this movie's lead character is perfect to showcase her talent.

Babycall will be released in Norway on October 7th.
