Fans of the first-person horror genre should take note of Evil Things, an upcoming American indie from first-time director Dominic Perez. Though originally a 2009 film, the low-budget, camera-shake-fest will come to DVD in the UK on October 10 according to Amazon, though the film page over at IMDB lists a curious date for August 11, so there might be a limited cinema release somewhere on the cards.
Five college friends take a road trip out of the city in celebration of a 21st birthday. Aspiring filmmaker Leo brings his video camera along to document their journey. While staying in a remotely located country home on a cold and snowy weekend their excitement quickly turns to panic and 48 hours later they’ve all vanished, leaving investigators without a single clue…until now. What’s ultimately captured on video is not a celebration but a sinister and nightmarish descent into psychological terror. This riveting, critically acclaimed thriller – a pulse-pounding, twisting game of cat-and-mouse until its bone-chilling conclusion – will take you to the edge…and beyond
