Trailer to Lynne Ramsay’s WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN Keeps The Mystery Alive

British director Lynne Ramsay made her debut in 1999 with the quiet masterpiece Ratcatcher, but in the 12 years since has only had one other stab at feature filmmaking in 2002's Morven Callar. It's with great pleasure then that I can share with you today the newest trailer to her upcoming film We Need To Talk About Kevin.

A study of a troubled relationship between a mother and a sociopathic son, the film is headed by the ever-reliable Tilda Swinton but also stars John C. Reilly and Ezra Miller as the titular Kevin. The French trailer below actually excises one of the major plot points that is included in the official synopsis, so in order to preserve the mystery for those who want to go in with a blank slate I won't mention it here.

We Need To Talk About Kevin opens in France on September 28th, while the UK gets it on October 21st and the US on December 2nd.
