LFF 2011: UK Trailer For The Deep Blue Sea Starring Tom Hiddleston, Rachel Weisz

In the era of so many old movies making a comeback in some shape or form be it remake, prequel or sequel its actually a bit of a shock that film studio’s have taking so so long to actually go back a few more decades to the 10930′s, 40′s and 1950′s for the latest movie inspiration. Melodrama’s seem to be really high in many studio’s agenda’s and Terrence Davies will bring The Deep Blue Sea back to the big screen in November but before then the movie will make a stop at London Film Festival.

The Deep Blue Sea is based on the classic Terrence Rattigan play which was originally a film from 1955 starring Vivien Leigh, Kenneth More with 2011 version Rachel Weisz along Tom Hiddleston in Romantic drama of forbidden love, suppressed desire, and the fear of loneliness between a with of a British Judge (Weisz) and a Royal Air force pilot (Hiddleston). The movie recently played at Toronto Film festival with many critics stating the movie as a powerful emotionally charged drama which some are regarding as one of Rachel Weisz’s best movies in a while, and should see themovie in the running for nominations in the awards season when it arrives. As for mainstream cinema fans will also recognise Weisz cast member Tom Hiddleston whom they’ll recognise fromThor when he played Loki however cinephiles will know his filmograpghy stretches throughout the independent/Arthouse scene as well.

Artificial Eye are bringing this movie to UK& Ireland on November 25th with Music Box doing the honors across the Atlantic but no confirmed date just yet. Below is the new UK trailer, pretty lo-fi teaser which Ill replace once a proper hd version arrives.

Hester Collyer (Weisz) leads a privileged life in 1950s London as the beautiful wife of high court judge Sir William Collyer (Beale). To the shock of those around her, she walks out on her marriage to move in with young ex-RAF pilot, Freddie Page (Hiddleston), with whom she has fallen passionately in love.
