When you talk about animation Disney-Pixar are always the first studio people relate to, the same goes with Japanese Animation (or Anime) Studio Ghibli. The studio have consistently producing some of the iconic animes of the last 2- to 25 years everything from Laputa, Nausicaa right upto last month's Arrietty but occasionally some just don't work but its always worth a look. The two legendary animators behind the studio Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away) and Isao Takahata (Grave of the Fireflies) news has come out the pair are about to start work on not just one new animation but two new projects the first project for Miyazaki since 1992 (Porco Rosso) and 1999 for Takahata with Meet The Yamadas.
Anime News Network are reporting Miyazaki is working on an autobiography but it's not clear if it's his own or possibly someone else's but whoever the film is based on it is exciting news as it's from the man who introduced the magic of anime to many people worldwide so its worthy of your attention. As for Takahata his project we do know a little more about, a classic 10th Century Japanese folktale about a princess who was discovered in a bamboo shoot by an Bamboo cutter (the movies intended title also called in Japanese Taketori Monogatari ).The film maker has been working on the project now for a little while and its expected the movie will be ready for release in about 2 years time.
