UK Trailer For Gus Van Sant’s Restless

On October 21st Gus Van Sant’s Restless will finally be released in UK & Ireland, the movie stars Mia Wasikowska and Henry Hopper, Ryo Kase. You have to go as far back as October 2010 when we first brought the first trailer for this quaint little indie flick but in recent typical film tradition the movie was delayed which usually means worrying signs for a film however they had a perfectly good reason for the delay to prepare the movie for Cannes Film Festival 2011.

Now the festival run is over its time for Restless to get its theatrical run and in the past hour Sony Picture Classics have sent us the new UK trailer which you can check out below. Restless tells the story of an terminally ill young girl (Wasikowska) who falls in love with a young man (Hopper) who has an unusual habit turning upto strangers funerals, he also has a Kamikaze pilot friend Yoshi (Kase) whom happens to be a ghost!

As for actress Wasikowska she definitely feels at home in the independent/arthouse style films though she was one of the only highlights of Alice In Wonderland, she is one of the breakout stars to watch out for including her co-star Henry Hopper who is more new to filmland but when you are the son of Dennis Hopper the world is your oyster. Apart from one blimp you cant say much wrong about Gus Van Sant’s filmography, he seems to be more comfortable in the less commercial films hence the only bad mark been the awful Psycho remake. When you look at it on paper it was probably a very good move that Van Sant never got The Twilight Saga :Breaking Dawn gig as it could have been a disaster not just for the director but also Summit, the Twilight movies so far have been slowburner’s and Van Sant’s arthouse style just wouldn’t have suited the franchise.

Restless is been released in UK&Ireland in October but this week Toronto Film Festival will be kicking off and the movie is part of the programme then after the festival will see the movie getting it’s American release on September 16th.
