UK Trailer For Julia Leigh’s Sleeping Beauty Starring Emily Browning

Revolver Entertainment this afternoon have sent us the New UK Trailer For Julia Leigh’s Sleeping Beauty starring Emily Browning.

The movie marks the feature debut of Australian director Julia Leigh, a movie which made its World Premier at this year’s Cannes Film Festival described as a deeply haunting, sexually provocative indie drama which has received a mixed reception in reviews. You could say all down to the type of film that particular critics is used to reviewing if its mainstream cinema you could probably say the review will be on the negative with a critics used to arthouse movies probably would give a more positive view.

Sleeping Beauty is no fairy tale , a story of a university student who delves into the dark underbelly of prostitution to experience a desire to find out what happens to her when she sleeps, leading to fulfilling her ‘clients’ sexual desires. It may sound silly but as Universities make it virtually impossible for the common man or woman to get a university education with high entry fees those students already studying are finding it harder and harder every year to survive prostitution is one route some are taking so its ironic we have a film with a student struggling.

Along with the new trailer Revolver have sent us a new Quad poster along with a number of new images which you can check out below. Sleeping Beauty also stars Michael Dorman, Mirrah Foulkes, Ewan Leslie and Rachael Blake with the movie getting a limited release on October 14th.

“You will go to sleep: you will wake up. It will be as if those hours never existed.”
Death-haunted, quietly reckless, Lucy is a young university student who takes a job as a Sleeping Beauty. In the Sleeping Beauty Chamber old men seek an erotic experience that requires Lucy’s absolute submission.
This unsettling task starts to bleed into Lucy’s daily life and she develops an increasing need to know what happens to her when she is asleep.Haunting and provocative, Julia Leigh’s powerful vision is one of the most startling debut features of recent years. Featuring a fearless performance from Emily Browning, Sleeping Beauty is set to be one of the year’s most anticipated and celebrated releases.
Sleeping Beauty is released in cinemas on 14th October
