Trailer For Sion Sono's Himizu

Life is cruel, we all have experienced the goodness of life unfortunately we experience the bad side of life its nature, throw in the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami and a Japanese schoolboy questioning life and we get HIMIZU.

Himizu is the latest offering from maverick Japanese film maker Sion Sono based on a manga about Sumida a schoolboy who is questioning life which has made him have to grow up really quickly when his parent abandoned him leaving him to run the family business. You could say its a teenage crisis that age when you start understand what you like and what you dont like and on paper this may not look like a typical Sion Sono film but this does have plenty of dark elements such as rape, murder, throw in a dash of black comedy a depressing outlook for teenage society of Japan. Taking into consideration of the March 11th Japan disaster Sono does look to have created a provocative interesting film which is trying to portray some hope in a period of darkness and recent awards for best actor/actress at Venice film festival proves we're onto something good here.

Himizu is due out in Japan very shortly and to promote the release a new trailer for the film has been released.
