Second French Trailer For Luc Besson's THE LADY

We might be living in hard times, jobs been lost, cost of living is rising constantly and the right to march to protest these cuts as leaders like David Cameron, Alec Salmond poison the fabric of society. What if you lived in a nation if you protest you get arrested or even shot for opposing the government? Burma is one of those countries and opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi spent 21 years (15 under house arrest) and Luc Besson captures her struggle in the second trailer for THE LADY. Michelle Yeoh plays Aung San Suu Kyi in biopic of not just of her struggle but her love for her husband Michael Aris played by David Thewlis.

This film is a wonderfully shot film and is been regarded as Yeoh's best performance  definitely in her English speaking roles certainly worthy of its consideration to be nominated in the 84th Oscars February 26th 2012.The new trailer you will see focuses more on romance between Aung and her husband and below the trailer there is 2 powerful film clips which which show that love in a moving way.

The Lady is the extraordinary story of Aung San Suu Kyi and her husband, Michael Aris. It is also the story of the peaceful quest of the woman who is at the core of Burma’s democracy movement. Despite distance, long separations, and a dangerously hostile regime, their love endures until the very end. It’s a story of devotion and human understanding set against a backdrop of political turmoil that continues today. The Lady was written over a period of three years by Rebecca Frayn. Interviews with key figures in Aung San Suu Kyi’s entourage enabled her to reconstruct for the first time the true story of Burma’s national heroine.

Since trailer one we now know The Lady will be released in UK&Ireland on December 30th.
