You've meet the Waterboys, Swing girls as well as Happy Flight Shinobu Yaguchi one of Japan's distinctive film makers is returning next month with his latest creation ROBO-G(Robo Ji). I've seen snippets over the past few years of Yaguchi's work but never seen a full film I really like his brand of humour very dry but not straight up slapstick style some film makers go for, he never intends to go all funny it's just spur of the moment when your placed in a situation.
Next month January 14th 2012 ROBO -G will be released in Japan and has all the markings of classic Yaguchi film, check out the full trailer!
The story revolves around a team of three at a small electronics maker, who receive an order from the company president to develop a robot for the purpose of getting the company more exposure. However, one week before their planned announcement at a robotics expo, their robot gets destroyed, so in order to save face they decide to take the stage with an old man in a robot suit. Unexpectedly, their "robot" receives huge acclaim and fame.
