SHAME Featurette Explains Film's origins

I'm not alway's the quickest spark when it comes to jumping on the bandwagon of a film, the buzz it brings, last Summer Steve McQueen's SHAME.The trailers started to appear online then London Film Festival arrived my interest did start to increase and last month I got my chance to see the film in a special preview. The mistake I make a lot of the times is not reading up on certain films to try understand where the director is coming but since that preview Ive now seen the film several times only thanks to my job. With the recent British Film Independent Awards which the film virtually swept the board with and today's announcement of a couple of BAFTA Nominations a few more people will be curious to check the film out.

In this new featurette director Steve McQueen talks about the origins of the film and one of the regular misgiving people see in the film, its just sex, porn! So this is where watching a featurette like this one or reading up. As for the first screening my best memory was the 2 mature ladies in there 60's sat at the front talked away as if there the only souls in the cinema then one says "Moira I can see his willy!" then the other 170 plus folks burst out laughing, you can't beat that!

SHAME is nationwide now starring Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan, James Badge Dale.

Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a 30-something man living comfortably in New York balancing a busy job and active social life. When the wayward Sissy (Carey Mulligan), turns up at his apartment unannounced, Brandon’s carefully managed lifestyle spirals out of control. From award winning director Steve McQueen (Hunger), Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us.
