UK Trailer For Kevin MacDonald's MARLEY

You don't have to be a fan of Reggae music to know he is a musical, cultural even a political icon to many people worldwide, that's Bob Marley. Worldwide you'll find someone with musician's albums or a poster of his face on poster in a student's room and recently he has had a documentary premièring at the Berlin Film festival simply entitled MARLEY and the UK Trailer and poster has been released.

Directed by Scottish director Kevin MacDonald (State Of Play, Last King Of Scotland)a project originally started by Jonathan Demme (Silence of The Lambs), a 2 and half hours insight into musician who is one of the very few people in the world breakdown the racial barriers and probably why one of parents, uncles probably love that whacky cigarettes! It follows him from his early days right up to international stardom and what I like here is, the film is supported by the Marley family so you know its a honest respectful account. What I've noticed in reading up on posts about this film the only little flaw some critics have said about MARLEY is the film doesn't dig as deep into his life leaving you seeing parts of the film like its just a timeline other than that Marley is getting positive reviews with some saying it's a strong contender for next years Oscars!
Bob Marley's universal appeal, impact on music history and role as a social and political prophet is both unique and unparalleled. MARLEY is the definitive life story of the musician, revolutionary, and legend, from his early days to his rise to international superstardom. Made with the support of the Marley family, the film features rare footage, incredible performances and revelatory interviews with the people that knew him best.
We don't have a release date yet for UK release however Marley is getting a limited cinema release and VOD by Magnolia Pictures from April 20th.
