When it comes to Woody Allen and Europe usually equals a winning formula 99% of the time, Midnight In Paris is perfect example. As for the evolution of the director's films not much has changed apart from the actors and actresses fighting to get themselves into one of his films. As normal charm of the films, as well as some well place dry humour make a Woody Allen film a annual event of anticipation and his latest film TO ROME WITH LOVE is no different.
Tonight the film's first trailer has arrived and shows the film has the typical small vignettes which will probably be the usual hit and miss though the cast seems to get a little younger these days making this film a perfect tonic for them to mature more into better actors, Woody is a perfect teacher for them. Jesse Eisenberg plays a young man whose girlfriend Greta Gerwig who ends up cheating with her best friend played by Ellen Page with Alec Baldwin tagging along as Eisenberg's father (me thinks it could be a father like son scenario here!). Woody Allen even makes a appearance on screen for the first in 14 years next to Judy Davis, Penelope Cruz plays a highend escort making some lucky lad's dreams come true. There's even a story from the king of Italian film Roberto Benigni (Life is Beautiful out yesterday on Blu-Ray / win it too here) which looks like it may go into a farcical rout.
To Rome with Love is a story about a number of people in Italy, some American, some Italian, some residents, some visitors, and the romances and adventures and predicaments they get into
TO ROME WITH LOVE has no UK&Irish release date just yet expect it sometime 2012, in USA it will be out June 20th.
