With an upcoming starring role in Whit Stillman's long awaited Damsels in Distress, as well as a featured part in Woody Allen's upcoming To Rome With Love, there doesn't seem to be any stopping indie-turned-mainstream star Greta Gerwig, as she'll soon be also appearing in Daryl Wein's indie romantic comedy Lola Versus.
Being billed on the poster and trailer as coming from "the studio that brought you 500 Days of Summer", they're probably hoping to achieve a similar Summer blockbuster success amongst the hopelessly romantic, 20something and up set, and from the trailer it looks like they may have an unassuming winner on their hands.
The story of Lola, a young woman on the verge of 30, the film focuses on her various romantic and sexual engagements following a break up with her long-time partner Luke three weeks before their wedding. Will she find happiness as she waves goodbye to her twenties and succumb to the expectations of settling down with someone nice? Well, there's no UK release date set yet so we'll have to wait a little longer to find out, but be sure to watch the bubbly trailer below, which also features The Future's Hamish Linklater as well as the film's co-writer Zoe Lister Jones as the stock, supportive best friend character.
