Richard Ayaode's The Double has a new darkly comedic full UK trailer now online starring Jesse Eisenberg whose life is on a downward spiral thanks to his own Doppelgänger.
The Double stars Eisenberg as Simon James your average office drone whose life is dull and seems to be overlooked by his fellow drone workers. Things get worse for Simon when the new employee arrives James Simon (Eisenberg) who is physically indentical to James but his opposite in personality, he's that good he's moving in on the girl Simon has eyes for Hannah (Mia Wasikowska).
You get a sense of film noir in The Double inspired by the eccentric magical world of Terry Gillam ala Brazil even Wes Anderson It's a unique off beat blend of comedy which is infectious, which thankfully the trailer doesn't spoil anything and if you ever thought classic Russian literature could ever be funny you need to check out The Double....
The Double will have one more festival appearance this weekend at Glasgow Film Festival before been released cinematically in UK from 4th April (USA 9th May). The film co-stars Wallace Shawn, Yasmin Paige, Noah Taylor, James Fox, Cathy Moriarty, Chris O’Dowd, Sally Hawkins, Craig Roberts, and Paddy Considine.
