Revenge Is Not Sweet In UK Trailer For Blue Ruin

Very few films seem to shine when they have a run in the Festival circuit and follow that reputation fro each festival then cinematic release. Jeremy Saulnier's Blue Ruin rise started away back at Cannes 2013  and ever since has been gain plaudit where ever it's went, becoming one of Cinehouse (& The Peoples Movies) favourite films of Glasgow Film Festival. We're so stoked that Picturehouse  Entertainment has picked up the UK rights and tonight we can enjoy the splendors of the Official UK trailer.

Macon Blair stars as Dwight a man who returns to his childhood home in the name of vengance. We first meet  Dwight a mysterious man living a hermits life out his car, raiding bins for food he's living rough away from society. What makes this film even more exciting is the fact he's not a man you expect to kill anyone, normal guy, determined but devoid of confidence.

I'll be honest when I received the email from Picturehouse to attend a festival press screening for Blue Ruin I was a little skeptical but the buzz from Sundance this year made me attend and boy I'm glad I went. This film is proof that quality  is rife in the smaller independent and that having a big name in your film doesn't guarantee critical and box office success. I think going into the film less known about it actually helped my enjoyment and Blue Ruin delivers the goods in the shape of an old fashioned revenge flick, its haunting, redolent very atmospheric.

Blue Ruin will be arriving in UK on 2nd May, stay tuned for our review sometime next month. The film also stars Devin Ratray, Amy Hargreaves, Kevin Kolack,Eve Plumb, and David W. Thompson
