GFF 2016 - The Zombie Apocalypse Goes First Person In Pandemic Trailer

The zombie sub-genre has never been hotter than now thanks to The Walking Dead, but have you ever felt in the thick of the action? In Pandemic you will get that chance!Pushing itself as a First Person Shooter (or POV) we get a first look at the film's trailer as the zombie apocalypse unravels around you!

Pandemic is a science fiction thriller featuring non-stop action from a first person shooter perspective which will take the perspective from the scientist rather than survivors. Star Trek's Rachel Nichols leads the cast a film directed by John Suits (The Scribbler), also starring Mekhi Phifer (Divergent, ER) who has had his run ins with the dead in Zack Snyder's Dawn Of The Dead remake.Missi Pyle (Gone Girl),Alfie Allen (John Wick)Danielle Rose Russell , Paul Guilfoyle (‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’) and Pat Healy make up the rest of the cast.

Pandemic is set in the near future, where a virus of epic proportions has overtaken the planet. There are more infected than uninfected, and humanity is losing its grip on survival. Its only hope is finding a cure and keeping the infected contained. Lauren (Rachel Nichols) is a doctor, who, after the fall of New York, comes to Los Angeles to lead the charge in the hunt for uninfected civilian survivors.

Lauren’s objective is simple – lead her team into the field and rescue survivors. Lauren and her team: Gunner (tactical command), Denise (navigation), and Wheeler (driver), put on their anti-contamination suits, complete with cameras so their experiences can be used for research, and leave the compound. But nothing could have prepared them for the mayhem they are about to walk into.

If you enjoyed [Rec] series of zombie horrors this has a lot of similarities (reminds me a little of the last segment of V/H/S Viral one with skateboarders too). The concept of First Person shooter is not an original, was used in the horror genre successfully in 2012 Maniac remake with Elijah Wood. This will go down well with horror fans and fans of video gaming but will you survive the film? Just think of it as a game and it will help or just sit back and witness the apocalypse unfold!

Pandemic doesn't have a UK release date however the film is a replacement for The Cell at Film4 Frightfest at Glasgow Film Festival on 26/27th February where it will make it's World Premiere! Content Media will distribute the film worldwide with USA first up on 1st April for limited cinema release before going V.O.D a couple of days later.
