The Best of Greta Gerwig Films






Greta Gerwig is returning to the screens once again in Maggie’s Plan. Greta made her mainstream debut in No Strings Attached in 2011. Aside from her acting career, she has also collaborated with directors Joe Swanberg and Noah Baumbach on several projects. Greta co-wrote, co-directed and co-starred in Nights and Weekends, a product of one of the several collaboration projects. Greta Gerwig plays Maggie, a girl on a mission to get her husband back with his ex-wife, in her most recent film Maggie’s Plan. To mark the release of Maggie’s Plan we are looking back at some of Greta’s best films.

Frances Ha

Frances lives in New York, but doesn’t really have an apartment and works as a dancer, but doesn’t really dance. Her best friend Sophie is also her roommate, until Sophie decides to move to her dream neighbourhood that Frances can’t afford. Frances is left stumbling through life with a lack of money, pitiable prospect as a professional dancer and a strained friendship with Sophie.

Nights and Weekends

Jamie and Mattie and are in love but living in different cities. Too many miles between them start to take a toll. Reunions seem to be reminders of difficult it is to upkeep the relationship. With a long distance relationship stretching from New York to Chicago, is it possible to make it work?

Lola Versus

Approaching her 30th birthday and three weeks before her wedding, her fiancĂ©e breaks up with her. Lola’s world crumbles around her leaving her a hot mess. With no man, no apartment in NYC and writers block for her PHD she turns to her best friends. She stumbles through making bad choice after bad choice on a journey to finding herself and coming to terms with turning 30 as a single woman.


The Dish&Spoon

Rose finds out her husband is cheating on her with her best friend and leaves him. Along the way she meets a boy at a boarded-up beach town who has just been dumped by his girlfriend. Rose takes him along with her on her journey to confronting her friend Emma for betraying their friendship and sleeping with her husband.

Maggie's Plan will be out in UK&Irish Cinemas Friday 8th July.
