Religious Fanaticism Taking To Another Level In Trailer For The Student [(M)uchenik]

The World an unique place, it's  troubled one too, constantly we have people tell us there reasons why our little planet. It's up to you what vision for the troubles you believe in,but in Kirill Serebrennikov's The Student ((M)uchenik) one problem to the world religion is at the core. A core that 'helps' a young fight against the banalities of the world's troubles, check out the trailer....

Veniamin, a teenager in the midst of a mystical crisis, has his mother, schoolmates and entire high school turned upside down by his questions.- Can girls go to their swimming classes in bikinis?- Does sex education have a place in school?- Should the theory of evolution be taught as part of the Natural Sciences? The adults are soon overwhelmed by the certitudes of the youngster who swears only by Scripture. No one but Elena, his biology teacher, will alone challenge him on his own ground.

After making it's debut at this year's Cannes film festival, the film is now starting it's push into cinemas not just in it's native Russia, as well as France. Before anyone has a go, when it comes to religion we are open to everyone having a choice to practice a religion of their choice, however over the history of the world has shown religion has caused many wars, atrocities , modern day elite bankers, oil have used religion as a cover to attack.

In The Student our main character Veniamin (Pytor Skvortsov) becomes fanaticised with his Christian faith. Mixing religion with a school based drama might not be sounding much but if your eagle eyed the last scene teases things will take a dark sinister turn.

No word on a UK, Irish or even U.S release date but this trailer is with English subtitles suggests there will be some release coming. The film stars Viktoriya Isakova, Yuliya Aug, Aleksandr Gorchilin.
