Here's some news from QuietEarth for any sci-fi fans going to next months SXSW festival in Austin Texas. Swiss Sci-fi movie CARGO will be getting its American Premiere at the festival either 17th or 18th March in the festivals "Spotlights Premieres" which means you will watch it in the cinema's biggest screen.
According to Quiet Earth this movie deserves the big screen treatment and looking at the trailer I have to agree.

synopsis:Since the organically collapse of the earth, the largest part of humanity in that lives all, in yard less overfilled room stations.  The single hope to escape this chaos, is RHEA, a heavenly planet, 5 light years of the earth removes.
The story of CARGO plays on the come down room freighter KASSANDRA, on its way to the remote station 42: The young doctor Laura is as only awake on board.  The remainder of the garrison: deep-frozen in the cold sleep.  Laura will have overcome not until four months its long layer.  During its daily control gears through the ghostly empty ship, Laura has more and more the feeling to not to be alone on board.  A reconnaissance mission in the dark and icy freight room ends in a fiasco.  The remainder of the garrison is woke.  A Katz- and mouse game begins, in which is nothing so, how it appears.  What do the mysterious freight containers and who conceal or what yet on board is?  - taken from movie website

Below is the trailer for Bradley Rust Gray's THE EXPLODING GIRL, a coming of age tale of  Ivy a young girl who suffers from Epilepsy but is struggling to have feelings for her boyfriend. To make matters worse her friend Al decides to crash and stay with her.

The trailer is wonderfully shot and protrays the worries of life as an young adult and during last summers festivals it did get positive reviews from all who seen it. I dont know if they'll be an UK/Irish release via the independent cinemas but there will be a limited release in USA from March 12th.

Is this Poland's version of Eternal Sunshine?? WJONA POLSKO-RUSKA trailers

The source of this trailer describes this movie WJONA POLSKO-RUSKA (Snow White and The Russian Red) as Poland's version of Eternal Sunshine of The Mind, Im unsure. First impressions from the poster I think more like an Trainspotting esque movie but as they say never judge a book by its cover, so you have to say the basis of the story is where the Eternal Sunshine links come from.

This movie tells the story of Silny a hardline nationalist who is anti semtic, racist and a homophobe whose girlfriend leaves him but he soon meets up with satanist Angela. the duo hang around drug dependant nobodies in a environment which can only be described as nihilistic.

The movies story comes from 18 year old writer
Dorota Maslowska who has caused a big stir with his novel simply due to the content and the movies leading character's stance of life. Anyway watch the trailers and you can decide for yourselfs.
