Wake is an new pyschological  horror/thriller from the director Chad Feehan whom a few years ago brought us All The Boys Love Mandy Lane. The movie had its world premiere in Austin,Texas at the SXSW Festival and has been getting alot of attention from the Horror Fraternity.

This Shinning inspired movie stars Josh Stewart (The Ghost Whisperer), Jamie Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos) as the movies leads, Pyschological, dark, twisted are a few words to describe this movie, a movie as it doesnt really sit nicely in one genre but taking it does dissect a persons morality.

I think we will be hearing a bit more from this movie in the near future, check out the trailer below:

IMBD synopsis:Driving to a wedding in Los Angeles through the Mojave Desert, Paul and Adrienne pull off the highway and into Roy's Motel and Cafe. This roadside artifact proves to be a strange and surreal place with an unsettling mix of travelers, who force our couple to discover the secret hidden between them and ultimately, the horrifying reality of their current situation.

Well if you watched the Oscars last week you would have seen the Animation Short LOGORAMA , won the Oscar award for best animated short.

Created by François Alaux and Hervé de Crécy the story follows the police chasing an armed criminal through a Los Angeles created out of animated Coperate Logos. Reading and listening to the aftermath of the duo winning the oscar it was a bit of an shock for some, but living outside USA we seem to see and here about movies, shorts for the first time on the awards night or post awards night so at times it doesn't seem much a fuss. As for who some wanted or expected to win I dont really know.

So below is the winning animation in full, so what do you think was it worthy of its oscar or is some of this talk just talk? post your views below.

Vahalla Rising: Mads Mikklesen interview

When it comes to epic movies and ones of historical/mythical content we only seem to cover those of Christian relevence but never any of pre-christian socities. Vahalla Rising  is an movie created by Bronson  director Nicolas Winding Refn  and stars Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, Clash Of The Titans) as One Eye a mute warrior held captive by Norse Viking warriors and he escapes slaying his captors and he goes on a quest to find his trueself.
This movie is set in Viking times and was created with virtually no money usung visually stunning scenery and strong story writing as it basis. The movie is slow but also very deep and times brutal when the action kicks in. Screenrush recently caught up with Mads and had a chat about getting down and dirty in his upcoming viking epic.

The release date is not 100% confirmed but I believe Vahalla Rising will get a limited UK/Irish release this Friday (19th).
