Trailer For BEGINNERS Starring Ewan MaGregor, Christopher Plummer

Its been a busy week or two for Ewan McGregor on the movie front with Perfect Sense last week and tonight its BEGINNERS and Focus Features have debuted the trailer & Poster online. The movie comes from Thumbsucker director Mike Mills which stars also Christopher Plummer, Melanie Laurent and Goran Visnjic (the actor that replaced George Clooney on ER!).
The movie is about Hal (Plummer) who plays Oliver’s ((MaGregor) dad who after 44 years married comes out thats he’s gay as well as dying with terminal cancer. The revelations at first hard to take in for but actually begins to bring Hal & Oliver closer together but also highlighting that Olivers own life aint so perfect especially with his new love Anna (Laurent). Its a moving but also funny story which actually made its world premiere back at last Septembers Toronto Film Festival.
Some people said Ewan McGregor has lost his way a little, Ill agree im not totally sure what he does at times but what you can say is we cant live on our past glories like Trainspotting we always must strive to move on!Beginners doesnt have a UK or Irish release date however the movie will get a American release June 3rd.

From writer/director Mike Mills comes a comedy/drama about how deeply funny and transformative life can be, even at its most serious moments. -Beginners- imaginatively explores the hilarity, confusion, and surprises of love through the evolving consciousness of Oliver (Golden Globe Award nominee Ewan McGregor). Oliver meets the irreverent and unpredictable Anna (Melanie Laurent of Inglourious Basterds) only months after his father Hal (Academy Award nominee Christopher Plummer) has passed away. This new love floods Oliver with memories of his father who – following 44 years of marriage – came out of the closet at age 75 to live a full, energized, and wonderfully tumultuous gay life. The upheavals of Hal’s new honesty, by turns funny and moving, brought father and son closer than they’d ever been able to be. Now Oliver endeavors to love Anna with all the bravery, humor, and hope that his father taught him.
