Gisaburo Sugii’s 3D animated film Tofu Kozo (or Tofu Boy) has had a full trailer released by Japanese Film website Cinema Today.Anyone who reads my other blogsite The Peoples Movies knows Im not convinced yet on 3D Films, I have seen at times potential then let down at last minute, with TOFU 3D I do see potential.
TOFU 3D is based on a novel called “Tofu Kozo Sugoroku-dochu Furidashi” by Natsuhiko Kyogoku and tells the story of a young son of a leader of Yokai (Mythical/fictional monsters & Spirits from Japanese Folklore) set during the Edo Period. Unlike other Yokai Tofu Kozu couldn't scare a single human simplydown to his silly appearance and of course carrying a plate of Tofu around, because of his appearance he is subject to constant abuse from his collegues along with been scolded by his father. Tofu wants to finds his mother he goes out to seek her with the aide of a chaperone Dharma Doll both embarking in many adventures which see Tofu growth during the movie.
TOFU 3D voice cast members include Kyoko Fukada,Tetsuya Takeda, Ken Matsudaira, Teppei Koike, Yo Oizumi, Hiroyuki Miyasako, Aya Hirano, Ai Haruna, and Rei Dan with the movie been released by Warner Bros Japan on April 29th.
