MADE IN DAGENHAM Celebrate International Women’s Day

Today is International Woman’s Day and what better way to celebrate the day with a movie that tells a story of equal pay and rights struggle in 1970′s UK the Movie is MADE IN DAGENHAM. The day marks the 100th anniversary celebrating the remarkable economic, political and social achievements of women from all around the world.
If your old enought to remember 1968, 6 ladies from Dagenham who bravely stood up against the chauvinistic male Ford Motors management demanded equal pay & rights for all women. Now 43 years on these 6 women paved the way for equal rights for all and the creation of the 1970 Equal Pay Act which outlawed discrimination on pay and conditions between men and women.
When you talk about revoultions in UK there isnt many we can talk about in the sense of political as in Egypt, Cuba but in terms of remarkable achievement of 6 ordinary people standing up for what they beleive and that there legacy still strong  today is remarkable. There actions speak louder than words and they are a perfect example through the power of protest action will make change.

With the help of Union shop steward Bob Hoskins (The Long Good Friday, Mona Lisa), they prove that nothing is impossible if you stand up for what you believe in, in this heart-warming must-see story.
