Offical First Trailer For James Gunn’s SUPER

When Matthew Vauhgn's KICK-ASS was released this time last year I wonder if he was a instigator of similar other superhero wanabe's. We've had Woody Harrelson in Defendor, Soon Ryan Kawnten With Griff The Invisible and now James Gunn's SUPER with Rain Wilson our unlikely hero.

The movie has been been getting a cult following around the American Film Festival circuit and now thanks to IFC Films the indie comedy is getting a limited theatrical release in USA from April 1st (no word on a British release just yet).
Over the atlantic we have been hearing good things about this movie not just the story overall but the great performances from the the cast which includes Rainn Wilson who plays our vigilante hero, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon. As for the director James Gunn he made a name for himself writing the scripts for Tromeo and Juliet as well as Zack Snyder's Dawn Of The Dead remake but Super isn't his  debut directoral feature which he made a name for himself through the Troma Film brand so you do have a idea the level of some of the humour expected from SUPER.

Thanks to IFC Films via Yahoo you can check out the trailer below for SUPER.

When sad-sack loser Frank sees his ex-addict wife willingly snatched by a seductive drug dealer, he finds himself bereft and wholly unable to cope. But soon he decides to fight back under the guise of a DIY superhero called Crimson Bolt. With a hand-made suit, a wrench, and a crazed sidekick named Boltie, the Crimson Bolt beats his way through the mean streets of crime in hopes of saving his wife. The rules were written a long time ago: You are not supposed to molest children, cut lines or key cars; if you do, prepare to face the wrath of the Crimson Bolt!
