Daisuke Tengan's DENDERA has received a new trailer which is now online.Based on a novel by Yuya Sato, Dendera is a story of 50elderly women abandoned by their village left to die in the harsh conditions of Old Lady Mountain. The woman band together to create a village called Dendera somehwere to live out the remainder of their lives along with ploting the revenge on the villagers and family who abandoned them.
Dendera is actually based on the Shohei Imamura 1983 film The Balland of Narayama which earned the filmmaker a Palm D'or at the Cannes Film Festival the same year, Tengan is also Imamura's eldest son. In the original the remote village was create the potential burden of caring for people over 70, check out the trailer below
Dendera will be released in Japan on June 25th 2011
