How does this man do it, he knows the true meaning of diversity, Takashi Miike is a world renowned film director from Japan who has had movies appear at Cannes (Hara-Kiri: Death Of A Samurai) and 13 Assassins doing the cinematic rounds around the world now suddenly releasing a Kids flick?! NINJA KIDS!!! (Nintama Rantaro).
The movie is based on Sobee Amako's long running gag-manga & Tv Anime series about a young kid called Rantaro who joins a kids school for ninjas who befriends a son of a wealthy merchant and a orphan boy who lost his parents during the war. The threesome along with some of their other classmates get together and refer to themselves as 'Ninja Eggs' getting themselves into misadventures with teachers, older students and rival ninjas. It looks cheesy but also fun and further proof how versatile Takashi Miike is.
Out of Interest his next movie is going to be based on a popular Nintendo DS game! Ninja Kids will be out in the summer July 23rd in Japan and dont be surprised if the movie ends up on these shores due to the directors current movies.
