Homer's Odyssey Goes Crime Noir In Guy Maddin's KEYHOLE

Last month acclaimed Canadian film maker Guy Maddin's KEYHOLE released its first footage online and over the weekend that film's full trailer has been released online via the good folks at Twitch. The film was unveiled at this years Tornoto and then Whistler film festivals, the film is the follow up to the directors acclaimed 2007 film My Winnepeg.

Jason Patric stars as Ulysses Pick, a deadbeat dad and gangster who arrives home with a bound girl and young man in tow. His gang of misfits awaits inside but upon arrival, Ulysses is more interested in making his way through the house, room by room, looking for his wife Hyacinth (Isabella Rossellini) and the journey is anything but straight forward.

Looking at the trailer think Homer's Odyssey Film Noir crime style  a fascinating concept which protray's  Maddin's intriguing unique style perfectly. For an arthouse film it certainly has a decent cast which includes Jason Patric, Isabella Rossellini, Udo Kier, and Kevin McDonald, so is this Guy Maddin's best work so far? Love to know your thoughts on it, enjoy trailer!
