UK Trailer For Albert Nobbs

You have to go away back to Toronto Film Festival 2011 it was been hyped as a potential Oscar winner and every festival it played ALBERT NOBBS was winning the critics left, right and centre. Despite the critical acclaim the Oscars are gone the film has had its run cinematically and next month the film will finally arrive in UK& Irish cinemas, so we can now watch the new UK trailer.

After the hype of the film over late summer autumn it disappeared of the face of the earth I actually forgotten about it until last week when I was on volunteer's shift at GFT, Glasgow I noticed the poster promoting the film. I may not be the greatest fan of period based drama's but when it comes to projects which an individual passionate about to go as far as pumping their own money and back up the the passion with an equally performance this attracts me to films and Albert Nobbs is Glenn Close project. 30 years own her dream has now become true and from the sound of it this could be one of the actress best performances in a long time. Sadly it didn't win at the Oscars and as I say sometimes, it's not the winning that brings more success, sometimes it's just been nominated does the trick.

eOne are releasing the film in UK&Ireland with the film arriving on April 27th and also stars Mia Wasikowska, Brendan Gleeson, Janet McTeer, Aaron Johnson, Pauline Collins, Brenda Fricker, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Bronagh Gallagher.

A witty Irish-set period drama about the lives of staff at Dublin‟s most luxurious hotel: the illegitimate child of a maid, a beautiful couple‟s impossible love, and Albert…a woman who pretends to be a man to survive. Nineteenth century Ireland: for a woman to be independent and single, she must deceive everyone – by pretending to be a man. Albert, a shy butler who keeps to himself, has been hiding a deep secret for years – „he‟ is a woman who has had to behave as a man all her life in order to escape a life of poverty and loneliness. When a handsome painter Hubert Page arrives at the hotel, Albert is inspired to try and escape the false life she has created for herself. She gathers her nerve to court beautiful, saucy young maid Helen in whom she thinks she‟s found a companion – but Helen‟s eye is on a new arrival: handsome, bad-boy Joe, the new handy-man. As Albert dares to hope that she might one day live a normal life, we catch a glimpse of a free-spirited woman who is caught in the wrong time… Stars Glenn Close.
