Trailer for OUTSIDE BET Starring Bafta Winner Adam Deacon and Bob Hoskins

Outside Bet is a comedy drama following the journey of seven friends during the Fleet Street print workers' strikes in the 1980s. While money, privatisation, unions and dramatic media evolution start to swirl, the life-long group of friends find themselves at the bad end of a redundancy pay-out and invest their savings into a racehorse - hoping that one final race can turn their fortunes around. The story is one of friendship and overcoming the odds.

This film might be based in a decade that ended nearly 27 plus years ago but the dark times of that era are very similar to today's current crisis: Conservatives in power, sky high unemployment, no future for youngsters, rich get richer everyone pays for them we suffer Cameron and his ass kissing bankers friends get £1 million plus bonus. Life ain't fair but like any working class family we prove the rich wrong and fight another day! Its that time of the year again we get our regular British flick, looks a little generic but a hell of alot better than Adam Deacon's last film Payback Season, check out the UK Trailer below.
It is 1985. Thatcher is in power, Sade is on the radio, and the print workers have gone on strike. But nothing, not even a scale eight earthquake can put a dampener on a group of close friends that meet every Sunday in their regular South London pub for a pint and free flowing banter of the highest order.Set against the backdrop of a changing way of life-as Rupert Murdoch moves the printing of his newspapers from Fleet Street to Wapping-this is a tale of seven firm friends, who embark on a unique journey that eventually leads them to gamble all of their savings and redundancy money on a single race.

The film stars a host of British acting talent including Academy Award nominee Bob Hoskins (Mona Lisa, Made in Dagenham) and BAFTA winner Jenny Agutter (An American Werewolf in London, Equus). Also starring are Emily Atack ("The Inbetweeners"), Calum McNab (The Football Factory, The Firm), BAFTA Rising Star award winner Adam Deacon (Anuvahood, Kidulthood), Vincent Regan (Clash of the Titans, 300), Terry Stone (Shank, Rise of the Footsoldier) and Perry Benson (This is England, Somers Town). Outside Bet is inspired by popular novel The Mumper, written by Mark Baxter and Paolo Hewitt. The film is directed by Sacha Bennett (Bonded by Blood).

OUTSIDE BET will be released in UK&Ireland April 27th.
