An Apple A Day Wont Keep This Doctor Away. Trailer to THE GOOD DOCTOR

After making a name for himself as Legolas in The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Orlando Bloom has struggled to escape the franchises ghost, so it was no surprise he is returning to old grounds with The Hobbit. But before then he has the small matter of been a doctor, a creepy doctor but it'll take more than a apple to keep this mad doc away and Apple have released the first trailer for THE GOOD DOCTOR Orlando Bloom stars as Dr Martin Blake a new physician, out to impress his superiors but as things don't go his way things take a dark twisted turn when he meets 18 year old kidney infection patient Diane (Riley Keough) when his self esteem turns to obsession. I'd be honest never heard of this one until the trailer arrived online but the film since its debut at Tribeca Film Festival 2011 has travelled the festival circuit to very positive reviews especially on Blooms performance been the key factor. This maybe an independent film which could help the actor get himself together and possibly help him move into blockbuster side of film which he has been staying away from as the 'relaxed life' of living off LOTR wont last for ever even with The Hobbit royalties. The Good Doctor stars also Rob Morrow, Taraji P. Henson, and Michael Peña ,Magnolia Pictures are dealing with this film and it will be released in USA August 31st (VOD July 27th). No word on a UK&Irish release just yet.

Martin Blake (Orlando Bloom) is an ambitious but anxious young doctor, eager to impress his superiors and colleagues: Chief Resident Waylans (Rob Morrow), self-assured fellow intern Dan (Troy Garity) and no-nonsense nurse Theresa (Taraji P. Henson). But things are not going Martin’s way and he can’t seem to shake off his insecurities. When 18-year-old patient Diane (Riley Keough) is admitted for a kidney infection, Martin steps in, getting the much-needed boost of self-esteem he craves. But things take a dark turn as his enthusiasm begins to become an obsession.
