Film4 FrightFest celebrated at London's Lawn of The Dead

FILM4 FRIGHTFEST celebrated at Leicester Square relaunch 2012

After 18 months of redevelopment work, the new-look Square opens this week with Lawn of The Dead, a series of relaunch events that includes a celebration of Film4 FrightFest, which has haunted the Square for the last 12 years – and returns for its fourth year at the Empire Cinema on August 23rd with Film4 FrightFest the 13th.

On the afternoon of Sunday 27th May, Alan Jones, co-director of FrightFest, will appear live on stage in conversation with film journalist Chris Tilly and take part in a Q&A to discuss his ‘life in horror’ and also to talk about what really goes on behind-the-scenes at the UK’s most popular genre festival.

Horror fans will also enjoy the FDA’S Summer Horror Film Quiz hosted by Alex Zane which will feature trailers from the Summer’s most frightening releases.

Plus, zombies will rise all over London and shuffle into the West End, invading the Leicester Square gardens from 12.00 noon – heralding the start of Lawn of the Dead.  And you don’t have to miss a second of the action. Come as a zombie or get a special make-over in the Square. And as it’s lunchtime, why not bring your own packed flesh, or sink your teeth into one of the juicy catering options in and around the Square.
