Watch Wes Anderson’s MOONRISE KINGDOM ‘Making Of…’ Featurette

8 days time Cannes Film Festival will kick off and it will kick off by the long awaited film from Wes Anderson MOONRISE KINGDOM which will make its world premier at Cannes on 16th May. In a era which is dominated by comic book films, board/toy films, unwanted remakes it’s so refreshing to actually someone create something different possibly a little original, something aimed at people older than 13years old and Moonrise Kingdom may just provide that.A new featurette has been released which goes behind the scenes looking at the making of this brilliant looking independently made flick which gives us a better understanding of the film’s story with the adults of the film telling us about their characters too. You’ll see Anderson distinctive style is on show here, very charming, quirky but hopefully the parody doesn’t destroy the film and hopefully substance will be more than style.
One friend said to me indie films are shit storylines and full of unknowns, well I hope my friend has had a look at Moonrise Kingdom’s cast as it’s certainly not ‘unknowns’ , Bill Murray, Harvey Keitel, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman, only Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward are our ‘unknowns’ but worthy members of the film.

Moonrise Kingdom will be released in UK&;Ireland May 25th.

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore — and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl’s parents. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl.
